Biked from Rock Glen to work today with Nate(roughly 8.7 miles). Found a spooky cemetery on East Lake road that I had to explore. Went to Sue's Cinco de  Mayo party after work, had a margarita, chillaxed and took a tour of her downstairs studio. Then biked from there to Arnie and Edie's to see Liz off, then back to Rock Glen. So about 17.4 miles today.

I just got home. I feel so tired. But I feel wicked good.

Nate: *sad face, working on my computer* "Brandi, if I died right now, would you cry for me?" *lovey face*

Me: "Yes. I would cry." *smiles*

Nate: "Pussy."

So last night proved to be interesting. Nate and I decided that it would be a super idea to drink some of that 5 hour energy drink garbage and drive all the way to Denny's at 2 in the morning.

It proved to be worth it. We stayed there for at  least two hours just drawing and turning their restaurant into our own personal studio of sorts. Our waitress kept walking over to our table to watch us draw and kept commenting on how she loves drawing and zombies and her sister's drawings and comics and school (the list goes on). We ended up drawing her an Art Battle. I guess she was stoked about it. After that we went to Wal.Mart. I hate that place, but we always find ourselves there after Denny's. Mostly dicking around and whatnot. We kinda zombied around and Nate was just being his usual insane self.  After all of that we went to Wegmans for some Jones (which they had NONE of, BASTARDS!) and then we drove home, listened to some Gorillaz, then passed out. Nate is still sleeping and I'm finally getting around to getting my ass up and moving.

WEEEEEE!

Now I iz gonna go do some art stuffs.

NOW HERE ARE SOME PICTURES! :D )

I'm finally getting around to making myself some business cards. I really want something interesting and perhaps a little untraditional. The thing is, I want to theme my cards around one of my favorite quotes:

"The most important thing in art is The Frame. For painting literally; for other arts: figuratively - because, without this humble appliance, you can't know where The Art stops and The Real World begins." - Frank Zappa

Anyone have any cool-a-roo ideas?

It started a few weeks back when Karen came in and asked who did those "really neat" drawings all over the wall. I told her they were mine and she asked if I have ever done Artist Trading Cards before.

love doing Artist Trading Cards.

I knew once I met Karen something awesome was going to happen involving this. She had the idea of putting a box here at the store for artists in this small town, middle of nowhere place to come together, have fun, and trade cards with one another. She said she was going to get a hold of Ann and see if it was possible. A few weeks later I realized that we have a few writer's groups here and the ever famous "Christian Knitters Group" *shudders*, but absolutely NO artist groups! Not even the Art's council has groups other than a few workshops here and there. It was then I thought "how great would it be to have an actual Group or a Club dedicated to this?!". So, I talked it over with Ann. She said this idea was wonderful, but I still had to contact Karen to see if it was ok. I didn't want to be stealing ideas or anything, so I attempted to call her back a few times.

Today was the day I finally got a hold of her....She said that was an awesome idea!

So, It is now my soul duty to have to put together an "Artist Trading Card" group here at the Bookstore. I am responsible for organizing, advertising (with some help from Karen since she has Art's Council ties), and hosting each meeting...

I am SO stoked.

Me: "It's the 28th."

Customer: "The 28th?"

Me: "Yup."

Customer:
"So the date today is the 26th."

Me: "Nope, its the 28th."

Customer: "Oh! I'm sorry, okay, the 28th..." starts writing check out. "Sorry about that! So its the 28th."

Me: "Indeed!"

Customer hands me the check and kindly smiles and walks out with her newly purchased goods.

Me: "Thank you, and have a nice day! :D"
